So, the Mizuno Wave Rebellion Pro recently came my way and it has been an exciting experience all through – no kidding! 

I have used these shoes on a track, treadmill, and even light trails. If you are a runner like me always searching for the best running shoes then you will love these.

My Verdict 

Maybe not for everyone especially the ones that are into stability or those who prefer a more traditional ride. 

But it really performs well when it comes to providing a fast neutral run with good form and responsiveness.

Its midsole design is made up of firmer Enerzy Lite and softer Enerzy Lite+ foams making it soft and cushioned like other high-end racing shoes.

The shoe’s responsiveness and springiness are enhanced by its wave plate which is constructed from carbon-infused nylon.

On the other hand, this design of the shoe also has its own drawbacks. There is a big hole in the middle which makes it difficult to turn around when corners or rough surfaces are involved.  

At the same time, others may think that the shoe is not strong enough for their liking precisely if they are heavy or suffer from excessive overpronation.

By and large, Mizuno Wave Rebellion Pro is an excellent choice for marathon runners who are after high-speed racing on marathon day due to his/her feet’ efficiency.

My Reaction After Opening the Box of Mizuno Wave Rebellion Pro

I was drawn to this shoe’s bright colors and different shapes just after I opened the box. 

I decided to feel its weight on my feet. The box was well designed with foam inserts keeping it in place.

When removing the shoe from the box, what caught my eye was how detailed the packaging had been. In order to avoid damages, or even scratches during shipping, a soft breathable material is wrapped around it. 

I could not hide my excitement after grabbing this pair of shoes. My sister told me, “Do you want a run with these shoes now?” I replied, “Sadly, I had my lunch a while ago, otherwise, I would.”

All along, there had been no patience left in me; so now all my desire is just to put on this running shoe and then hit up roads.

Upper Fit and Comfort

The upper design of these shoes was a little bit different. 

For example, I noticed a streamlined ankle collar and a new triple shoelace loop. It improved the overall fitting and I felt that I could run better compared to my other running shoes on the street. 

The engineering of the upper portion really needs some clap.

When I tested Mizuno’s speed technology, I noticed the angled midsole increased middle foot contact during a marathon. This helps maintain a fore-mid strike.

This feature is highly beneficial for middle-foot strikers hence giving them an edge in races or fast-paced runs.

Midsole and Energy Return

A softer, lighter feel to this shoe was achieved by adding Mizuno Enerzy Lite+ and the carbon-infused nylon wave plate in the midsole.

We already talked about the cushioning of this pair. We tested it by running on different surfaces and the performance was satisfactory.
